Accra
Accra is the capital city and the largest city of Ghana. It is an administrative, communications and economic centre of Ghana. It was originally built as a port along the Atlantic coast. It has attractive centres due to its early architectures built during the colonial period. In the modern day it has transformed with its skyscraper buildings made of glass, concrete and steel.
Population of Accra
Accra is the largest city in Ghana with a population estimate of around four million. This is a metropolitan city which houses many industries hence providing employment to many people of Ghana. It is a city that houses the largest population in the large country of Ghana.

Accra is a city governed by a mayor who has powers over the activities taking place in the city. This means when one wants to own any property in the city like houses or cars he has to follow the rules set by the city council of Accra. The city has high class and low class houses which are easily affordable to both middle and high class people.
In the metropolitan Accra, there is the up-come of new settlement. Many investors have been attracted to invest in this area since there is land. The prices of these pieces of land are controlled by the council.
The area has well developed infrastructure which provides good transportation to these area where people have invested in buying and selling of residential houses. Many people have also invested in the transportation sector. The availability of good infrastructure system has attracted many people hence need for means of transport. This has seen many invest in buying buses, planes and in railway so that they ease the transportation of goods.
Accra houses many industries which process various products. Most of these industries and factories are owned by foreigners who found the city a fertile ground to invest their cash.
Tourism
The city of Accra has been to the capital city since 1877 and it is a city well endowed with luxury hotels, excellent restaurants and night clubs. It also houses several museums, monuments, modern business and commercial areas. Among the major tourist attraction is the National Museum which is filled with things portraying the heritage of Ghana. There is also the National Theatre which is built in the modern way, the Independence square and the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum.
The Accra International Conference Centre is also a centre of attraction where many people gather for conferences. The beaches at the coast of the Accra town are also attracting centre for tourists. There are many resorts which have been built here for visitors.
